News and Events

Here is where you'll find all about our past events and what we have coming up. Whether it's collecting sports gear, shipping school supplies to students-in-need or conducting a grass-roots movement to improve the lives of young people, there is always something happening!

Dearest Project HOTSHOTS,

There is not enough words to express the gratitude that me and my eight children feel for what you have done. Thank you so very much!!! Yourself, in James name with his great wife Patricia helping others in need.. Their very sweet children!!
It humbles me so much. Well I am a single parent of eight beautiful children, and at the moment I am unable to work. I need and would love to go back to school to further my education, in order to see my children thru.
I have a 17 year old daughter who was born with Acute Chronic Renal Failure and she has had 2 transplants so far. So far so good but she lives a very hard life, and I have been over seeing her care, that is why I have been unemployed.
The school supplies came a long way and we sure needed them too.. Thanks to my very dear friend, Maria Araiza. She is so amazing always trying to help in any way she possibly can..

I won't lie and say I didn't need other things so what ever kind of help you extend to me and my children will forever imprint in our hearts.

A Special Thank You To Two Exceptional People and Two Exceptional Groups

by Don Pupke on Thursday, September 15, 2011

As many of you know, the Catskill area of New York was devastated by Hurricane Irene. Lives were lost and whole towns were destroyed. Prattsville, Ashland and Windham were hit particularly hard. In response my friend Janine Louise began the Prattsville-Windham Disaster Relief Fund to help with the needs of the displaced victims. Through her I heard that the schools desperately needed supplies and backpacks for students. I immediately called my friend John Gotimer who runs an exceptional charity called Project HOTSHOTS out of Malverne. John immediately arranged for more than 100 backpacks - filled with school supplies to be shipped to the Ashland Fire Department to be distributed to the schools. The backpacks were received yesterday and I just wanted to thank John, Project HOTSHOTS and Janine and the Prattsville-Windham New York Disaster Relief Fund for their exceptional efforts to help people in need. Thank you.

Thank you to Dr. Pennie Schwartz

Thanks Dr. Pennie, of Schwartz Family Chiropractic in Malverne for supporting our efforts to bring school supplies to as many students-need as possible. Your back-to-school drive brought in over 100 lbs of much needed school supplies. They are in use already and many, many students are better off, thanks to you.

School Supplies and Baseball Gear to Nicaragua!!

Last year we supplied Long Island Lutheran with baseball and softball gear for the kids of Nicaragua.  We are thrilled to be doing it again, this year with the teens of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Centerport, NY. The group is Project Nicaragua and they have returned from a successful trip. Pics soon!  Air guitars for you guys and gals at OLQM!!

Life Saving Mosquito Nets for Students in Uganda

Thank you Mr. Bob Silon for his wonderful work in Uganda. Bob is helping the students of a small village there and thanks to Project HOTSHOTS and many other fine organizations, he is able to protect several schools from dangerous mosquitoes. We are proud to provide 100 nets in order to make the lives of these students a bit better. Robert also provides free dental care for thousands of people during his voluntary time there.  Air guitars for Bob Silon, and HELP International for their great work.

DONE!!  What a terrific day.  Hundreds of families volunteered their time to make our 2010 event a success.

The backpacks are on their way to 25 destinations and will be distributed to students within days.  Thanks to everyone who took part in our event. Thanks to our donors, sponsors, partners, volunteers. Thanks to our "enthusiasts" - people who bring their friends into our organization, get their co-workers involved and think of ways to help more people throughout the year.  Thanks to friends, old and new who support our efforts.  And thanks to all of the young HOTSHOTS who, once again, worked tirelessly to benefit other kids. Heroes - all of them.
